Key statistics

The city also benefits from its close proximity to the Peak District, a national park and area of outstanding beauty. It is also within striking distance of other major cities in the North of England, including Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle.The students come from a variety of educational and cultural backgrounds, so English may not be their first language. Yet with the support of experienced, highly qualified staff, they can achieve their academic and career goals. For Entry to Postgraduate Research Programmes e.g. MPhil, PhD Holders of a bachelor degree with a minimum of 60% or "first class" from a reputable university and a good masters degree with a minimum of 60% from a recognised university, will be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
In exceptional cases, applicants with only a bachelor degree with a minimum of 60% from a reputable university may be considered for direct admission to postgraduate research programmes.
