University of Glasgow is a public research university in Glasgow , Scotland. The university is currently spread over a number of campuses wher the main Gilmorehill campus resides in Hillhead , 3km from the city centre. Facilities for shopping, entertainment and cultural pursuits are excellent, and there is dramatic countryside nearby.

There's an unusually high proportion of local students: almost half come from west Scotland. Among the rest are representatives of 126 other countries. Glasgow is a confident and dynamic city that has reinvented itself in recent years.

English Language Requirements

The University sets a minimum English language proficiency level and accepts qualifications from all over the world. Please note that some degree programmes might have additional requirements. In general, the following are accepted: 

·        IELTS: 6.5 (with no sub-test less than 6); or

·        ibTOEFL: 92 (no sub-test less than 20); or

·        CAE: 176 overall (no sub-test less than 169); or

·        CPE: 176 overall (no sub-test less than 169); or

·        PTE Academic: 60 (no sub-test less than 59); or

·        IGCSE: English language B minimum.

The university provides courses to help students reach a proficiency level equivalent to the required IELTS score through its English for Academic Study Unit.

Undergraduate

The University of Glasgow will consider students with Central Board (CISCE or CBSE) or Metro state board qualifications. The normal minimum requirement is 75% average including 75% in key subjects, although certain degree courses require a higher standard.
International A-Levels and IB are also accepted. 

Postgraduate Taught

Post applications to Master degrees require  graduates of Indian central, state or leading deemed and private universities. Ordinarily applicants must have achieved a minimum cumulative 1st division or better across all years of their studies and all applications are considered on a case by case basis.

Science & Engineering degrees: theory grades will be accorded greater significance and entry will be entirely at the discretion of the University of Glasgow.  Applicants applying for January entry may be required to demonstrate greater understanding of certain areas of engineering on their academic record.
