English language entry requirements
You will need to be able to demonstrate the required level of English language proficiency. Students from India who have achieved 70% in English at Class XII from CBSE or CISCE may be exempted from additional English language requirements.

Guarantee of accommodation
The University offers a guarantee of accommodation in the halls of residence for the majority of new students starting at the University. The guarantee means that students will receive an offer of accommodation based on the information and preferences they have provided in their accommodation application.

We offer a wide variety of rooms in our halls of residence to suit every student's needs and budget. From self-catered rooms with a shared bathroom from £104 per week, to en suite rooms from £126 per week, there's something for everyone.
We also offer part-catered options with two hot meals provided every weekday, Monday to Friday as well as self contained studio flats for those who enjoy their own space.
A number of our subject areas offer scholarships for international (non-EU) students. You will be automatically eligible for one of these scholarships if your A level, IB or equivalent grades meet those required by your subject area. If you meet the requirements, your scholarship amount will automatically be applied as a tuition fee discount during your first year of study. You do not need to make a separate application for these scholarships.
A maximum of three A Levels, IB Grades or equivalent will be considered for the scholarship, therefore the maximum award per student is £3,000. The scholarship is only offered in the first year of study.The university is committed to attract bright, ambitious students onto their courses. Southampton International Merit Scholarships awarding up to £3000 are available to International students (non-EU) on our Undergraduate (Bachelor) and Postgraduate taught (Master's) courses.
A large number of the postgraduate funding opportunities above are available to PhD students, but the University also offers some funding opportunities specifically to PhD students. These opportunities include the Postgraduate Research Scholarship Fund and doctoral training centre studentships.
