Undergraduate Entry requirements

Students who have successfully completed Standard XII examinations will be considered for entry onto our undergraduate degrees with the exception of Medicine and Dentistry.

Only 2 years gap is acceptable.

Students who have taken Central Board examinations and achieved 75%+ or students who have taken State Board examinations and achieved 80%+ will be considered for first year entry.

Students who have achieved between 60% - 75% (Central Board) or 65% - 80% (State Boards) may be considered for entry onto the Foundation Programmes

- IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each element:
- Pearson PTE overall 57 with a minimum 51 in each band
- IETS TOEFL iBT with 79 overall
Postgraduate
Taught Degrees (MSc/MA: one year)
For entry onto our Masters level courses students should normally have achieved a First Class or 60% Bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
Research Degrees (MPhil/PhD: three years)
For entry onto our research degrees students should normally have achieved a First Class Masters degree from a recognised university. Some departments may also accept students with a First Class Bachelors degree or equivalent.
English Requirement

- Pearson PTE overall 62 with a minimum 51 in each band
- IETS TOEFL iBT with 92 overall
English Language Requirements

All applicants to QMUL programmes must meet a minimum academic English language entry requirement for admission and to be successful on the course. You may not need to provide an official English language qualification, but you do need to provide evidence of your English language ability in line with the IELTS requirements for the programme to which you are applying.

Minimum IELTS or equivalent is 6.0 for Science and Engineering undergraduate degrees and 7.0 for Humanities and Social Sciences, and Medicine and Dentistry undergraduate degrees. The university's School of Economics and Finance offers programmes with a score of 6.5.

Students may be eligible to join one of the university's pre-sessional English language programmes (at additional cost) if their IELTS score is 0.5 below the requirement.
