The University of East London (UEL) is a public university in the London Borough of Newham, London, England, based at three campuses in Stratford and Docklands. The University of East London runs seven schools including Architecture, Computing and Engineering, Arts and Digital Industries, Cass School of Education and Communities, Health, Sport and Bioscience, Psychology, Social Sciences, Royal Docks School of Business and Law and a Graduate School. UEL is located in the East London boroughs of Stratford and Docklands. The largest campus is in Docklands. The Stratford Campus hosting Cass School of Education and Communities, the School of Health Sport and Bioscience and the School of Psychology, is centred around a 19th century listed building. The University Square Stratford campus is jointly owned with Birkbeck, and is dedicated to adult students. The Stratford campus has the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games sites and the new Westfield shopping centre - Europe's largest - on its doorstep, as well as improved transport links within the capital, across the UK and beyond. The Docklands campus, opened in 2000, is the newest university campus in London, with an amazing waterfront location and outstanding facilities.
The institution offers a number of different clubs and societies run by students, heir focus ranging from arts to biking, and from causes such as International Development and LGBT rights to identity - whether national, cultural, political or religious. Clubs and societies are one of the best ways to get to know people with similar interests and make friends. The University of East London is one of the few universities in London offering on-campus accommodation. English language requirements
To study at UEL you must demonstrate that your English level is high enough for university study. They accept a number of different Secure English Language Tests (SELT) for entry onto their degree courses, with IELTS being the most common. English language requirements vary slightly from subject to subject.

What if I do not meet the requirements?
If you do not meet English language requirements, you can apply to one of pre-sessional English courses, which are specifically designed to give you the language and study skills needed for academic study. If you pass the assessments on the pre-sessional English language programme, you will be accepted onto your degree course without the need to take IELTS or another SELT. They also accept TOEFL iBT.
Undergraduate degree courses
To study for an undergraduate degree, you are normally required to have completed the SSC (Year 10) with good grades and HSC (Year 12) with 60% or above.
Postgraduate degree courses
To study for a Master's degree, you normally need to have a Second Division Honours Bachelor Degree (minimum length 3 years) and have scored an average of:

Accommodation for International Students
There is accommodation on campus for up to 1,200 students and priority is given to applicants from outside the UK. Accommodation on campus is self-catered, wired internet is available in all dorm rooms, and Wi-Fi is available across both campuses. International students are spread evenly across the halls of residence. Students can usually stay in their accommodation during Christmas and Easter vacations, but normally move out over the summer.

The Civic Engagement Scholarship supports outstanding all-round students at the University of East London.
