University of Sunderland currently boasts 20,00 students in the London and Hong Kong campus. The university has partnerships with different industry bodies to boost its research and development efforts. University has boosted its effort for world-leading research for public and private industry benefits. University of Sunderland is also shortlisted as the University of the year for 2021, the leading category in the annual THE – Times Higher Education – awards. Our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion was reinforced recently when we were named University of the Year for Social Inclusion (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021) and our We Care programme picked up the Widening Access Initiative (Retention and Progression) Award at the 2020 NEON awards. In March 2018, we were successful in our bid to open a new School of Medicine. With a track-record of excellence in medical education spanning almost 100 years, the University is now well-placed to address the chronic shortage of doctors in the North East.
University currently contains five departments. The departments are arts, education, business, media studies, journalism, languages, natural sciences, health, pharmacy, psychology, performing arts, sports and social sciences. The university has started to offer short courses as well. It has partnerships with universities in 15 countries, which facilitate student and faculty exchange programmes to proffer a global learning experience. Leading organizations such as Microsoft, Network+, Citrix, VMware, Linux, A+, Cisco and EC-Council provide professional IT training to students. The university has about 20,000 students across all the campuses from more than 100 countries. International students constitute 36% of the student population.

If English is not your first language you should have at least one of the following qualifications (or equivalent) as a minimum
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Generally, the course requirements will be a minimum score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening and speaking.

The university has programme and course-specific requirements, thus, course or major will have separate academic requirements at all levels.
Basic qualifications expected from international students are:

Undergraduate candidates: High school certificate or diploma with a score of a minimum of 70% or higher in Grade 12. Only 2 years gap is acceptable.

Postgraduate candidates: A first-class or 60% undergraduate degree from a recogrecognizeditution or its local equivalent.8-9 years gap is acceptable.

MBA candidates: A three-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 50-55%.
University of Sunderland (London Campus) provides on campus accommodation.
University currently has four Halls of Residences and all of them are within 1.5 - 2 miles of the city center. Student can choose accommodation as per the course they are undertaking
