Plymouth University is a modern, dynamic public university based predominantly in Plymouth, England where the main campus is located, but the university has campuses and affiliated colleges all over South West England. With over 100,000 alumni in over 100 countries, Plymouth University is one of the UK’s largest and most prominent institutions and is consistently rated amongst the top modern universities in the UK.

Plymouth, Britain’s Ocean City, is located on the coast in the beautiful South West of England, between the sea, Cornwall and Dartmoor. Plymouth enjoys a combination of rural charm and modern city living. The University is set in the heart of the city with shops, facilities and attractions on its doorstep. Plymouth is a pedestrian friendly city and students also benefit from close proximity to the scenic Barbican harbour and the breathtaking Hoe, which looks out over the sea and has views to neighbouring Cornwall. The main campus is within easy walking distance of the city centre, main shopping area, transport hubs and accommodation.

The location also plays a part in studies here: courses relating to marine life and the oceans are particularly well regarded. Plymouth has a strong record of excellence, enterprise and innovation across its teaching and research activities. Distinguished by its long-term engagement with business and the community, the University enjoys outstanding links with employers and plays a key role in civic and regional leadership. It is the only university in the world to have been awarded the Social Enterprise Mark in recognition of its work in support of the sector.
